Hal Satterthwaite

Hal Satterthwaite is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with extensive experience of delivering care and treatment for adult clients from all ages and backgrounds and for a wide range of conditions . He has a warm and pragmatic approach and provides effective and helpful therapy in a safe and confidential environment.

Hal offers therapy to both individuals and couples with the aim of enabling his clients to enhance their life and be able to live it more fully. He will work in partnership with clients, at their own pace, to help them to modify unhelpful cognitive patterns and establish behavioural changes which will help them achieve their objectives for therapy.

As a fully qualified and BABCP certified therapist, he is experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with :

· Social Anxiety

· Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

· Relationship Problems

· Stress (including work stress, academic study and redundancy)

· Anxiety and Worry

· Depression

· Panic Attacks

· Phobias

· Health Anxiety

· Unexplained and Persistent Physical Symptoms

· Chronic pain and long-term health conditions

· Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and

· Anger Management

Most clients come for therapy seeking to achieve changes in how they feel. We cannot directly modify distressing emotions. We can however identify patterns of thought and behaviour which are maintaining the distress and then plan a programme of cognitive and behavioural change which will help improve mood and reduce anxiety. If you work with Hal, he will collaboratively work with you on ways to help you achieve the changes you want to make in your life.

Hal specialises in providing Adapted CBT for neurodiverse clients and is trained in screening clients for ASD and ADHD.

Hal has a particular interest in working with couples where one or both are neurodiverse and provides a 12-week specialist programme for couples where ADHD is affecting communication, closeness and day-to-day life.

Fees for Sessions with Hal:

If you are self-paying for therapy sessions, the standard fee for either an initial consultation or individual therapy session is £100 for an online session and £120 for individual face to face sessions.

Behavioural Couples Therapy sessions are £150 per session.

Hal is registered with most major insurance providers, including  AXA, Aviva, Cigna, CS Healthcare, Overland Health, Vitality, and WPA.
